Davenport All-Candidates Debate

The Vietnamese Canadian Youth Association cordially invites everyone to participate in the Davenport virtual all-candidates debate on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The topic of discussion is “Anti-Asian Racism: Repeal Bill S-219 (2015); End National Days of Hatred Against Vietnamese Canadians.”
Background: Davenport is one of the most competitive federal ridings in Toronto, with a margin of 1.9% and 2.7% between the first and second-place candidates in the 2015 and 2019 elections. Approximately 2% of the riding’s residents are Vietnamese Canadians.
Anti-Asian racism has gained more attention recently. We call on all Canadian politicians to stop promoting the hate messages against Vietnamese Canadians.
